ARCServe as a service tied to strategy to deliver to market rapidly deployable, easy-to-own IT management solutions.
Officials said that the ARCServe cloud service will be available in the second half of this year. The company said that it is aiming the solution at small businesses, where traditional, on-premise backup-and-restore systems may not be financially feasible or supportable by on-site IT staff.
CA said that the ARCServe service will be sold both by CAs and Microsofts channel partners, particularly those that include data protection into broader cloud-based IT management solutions.
By leveraging vendor solutions and their own expertise, partners can offer customers the ability to cost-effectively offload routine IT operations, said Mike Crest, CA general manager, Data Management.
The combination of our CA ARCserve technology and Microsofts Windows Azure cloud platform will enable us to offer the partner community a scalable, feature-rich, and fully configurable resource for this growing management services market, he said.
Walid Abu-Hadba, Microsoft corporate vice president, said that CA Technologies SaaS data protection solution is designed to help customers cost-efficiently mitigate a wide range of information risks, including system downtime and catastrophic data loss across the customers entire IT portfolio.
