CA Technologies Inc. and Fujitsu Ltd. recently agreed to a technology swap to boost each other’s service assurance product portfolio and cloud computing strategy.

Under the companies’ OEM agreement, Fujitsu will offer CA’s Application Performance Management--a solution that provides real-time views and analysis of a customer’s business services—with its Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) middleware and system management software.

In turn, CA will include Fujitsu’s Interstage Business Process Manager Analytics--a product suite to view and optimize business processes—as an add on to its Application Performance Management product, rebranded as CA Business Process Performance Analytics.

Officials said that the CA and Fujitsu technologies benefit companies initiating new cloud computing projects by offing transaction and business process performance across the application infrastructure to assure service delivery expectations and objectives are met.

“This partnership demonstrates the companies’ ongoing commitment to deliver market-driven solutions that solve critical IT and business management challenges, including quality service delivery and end-user experience management,” said Chris Cook, general manager of CA Technologies Service Assurance business.

“The combination of CA Technologies and Fujitsu products will make both companies' IT and business solution offerings more comprehensive and competitive,” said Masato Nitta, president of Fujitsu’s Middleware Business Unit.

Fujitsu said that combining CA APM and Fujitsu middleware suites will allow it to provide a holistic IT management solution for physical, virtual and cloud environments.

CA said that incorporating the Fujitsu business process analytics will enhance its service assurance portfolio by expanding its capabilities into business process performance management and business activity monitoring.
