Blue Coat Debuts Cloud-based Assessment Service for Channel Partners
Offering allows faster, remote evaluation of enterprise network performance, reinforces channels role as trusted advisor.
Blue Coat Systems Inc., a provider of network management technology, said that it is offering a cloud-based assessment service its channel partners can employ remotely to conduct network evaluations, enhancing their ability to provide customers with useful application performance data.
The vendor said that its cloud-based assessment service is important because, when combined with the Blue Coat PacketShaper appliance, it enables channel partners to easily and remotely conduct an extensive analysis of a customers enterprise network and readily implement policies and changes to improve network traffic.
The new Blue Coat Assessment Service brings application delivery network assessments within easy reach of enterprises and organizations and opens up a revealing level of detail where there had previously been a severe lack of knowledge, said Steve House, Blue Coat senior director, visibility solutions.
The PacketShaper appliance identifies applications on the network and monitors response time and usage. Officials said that value-added resellers and consultants can use the cloud assessment service at the conclusion of a deployment period of the vendors PacketShaper device.
The partner receives a detailed, twelve-page report including color graphs and content that partners can augment with their own insights and brand with their own logo and contact information.
By offering the Blue Coat Assessment Service to prospective customers, VARs and consultants can quickly deliver a valuable report and reinforce their role as their customers trusted networking experts, House said.
The Blue Coat Assessment Service is available mid-August 2010 to Blue Coat channel partners.
