Savid Technologies, MSP and IT Security Vendor, Bought by Investment Group
Technology Capital Investors (TCI) expands MSP lineup, plans to offer new suite of managed security and compliance services in Q1 2012.
Savid Technologies Inc., a Chicago, IL-based managed service provider (MSP) and IT security services specialist, said that it has been purchased by Technology Capital Investors (TCI), a New York investment house for its expertise in cloud security.
TCI, which previously has acquired MSPs Bravura Networks and Avazpour Networking Services in addition to IT services companies External ITT, OS33, ETCI and Hostnet, said that Savid will retain its company brand and employees. Michael A. Davis, Savid’s chief executive, will stay on to run day-to-day operations.
“TCI is on the cutting edge of technology and fast becoming a driving force within the IT industry,” said Davis.
TCI officials suggested that the Savid acquisition was important to its own impending security offering. Davis, a cloud security expert and author of Hacking Exposed, will head TCI’s new suite of managed security and compliance services, slated for launch in Q1 2012.
“Savid Technologies is a strategic partner acquisition that will play an integral role in TCI’s growing family of MSP brands, and become the central hub for our new North America security and compliance practice,” says Sam Attias, TCI managing partner.
Savid’s core offering surrounds IT security audits and risk assessments.
“Working as a team, TCI and Savid Technologies will bring to market a fully integrated security offering that our partners can market and sell to their clients,” he said.
