Kaspersky Labs Signs Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro for Security SolutionsBy D.H. KassJune 29, 2011 Security vendor Kaspersky Labs said that it has signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro Inc. in a move to grow and strengthen its channel base in the U.S. and add new business customers. Kaspersky said that Ingram is well-suited to help it expand its channel partner base and, correspondingly, extend its reach into mid-sized and large enterprise organizations. The vendor, which only sells through channel partners, said that the deal will allow resellers previously unable to sell its software to purchase products exclusively from Ingram. "The relationship with Ingram Micro is a great opportunity for Kaspersky Lab to reach a new breadth of customers, said Steve Orenberg, Kaspersky chief sales officer. Ingram Micro understands Kaspersky Lab's need for flexible distribution options to supply our customers with the most comprehensive protection and we look forward to working hand-in-hand with our new partners," he said. Under terms of the agreement, Ingrams Advanced Technology Division and its Networking/Security Business unit will assume marketing, sales and support responsibility for Kasperskys Open Space Security, its portfolio of corporate security solutions. "Kaspersky Lab's portfolio of security solutions is a great addition to Ingram Micro's Networking/Security Business Unit, said Eric Kohl, Ingram senior director, Advanced Technology Division. Over the years we've seen an increased demand from our channel partners for Kaspersky Lab's technology, he said.
