Arrow to Distribute Websense Security Solutions in North AmericaBy D.H. KassFebruary 14, 2011 Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS), a business unit of Arrow Electronics Inc. said that it will begin distributing Websense Inc.s web-based security portfolio in North America, expanding a prior 10-year European distribution agreement. Arrow ECS said that it will offer Websenses entire portfolio to North American channel partners, including the vendors Triton solution, and its product collections for web and email security, and data loss prevention. The deal expands Websenses channel reach in North America beyond partners associated with Ingram Micro Inc., the vendors only other distributor, gains it some additional visibility in the government market and access to managed service providers and value-added resellers selling to mid-market and enterprise-level accounts. We look forward to assisting Websense with increasing its market share within the North American channel and building greater awareness for its Triton architecture and innovative unified content security solutions, said Mike Nowlan, Arrow ECS vice president of the security, virtualization and networking practices. The two companies said that channel partners, including managed service providers, in North America will receive education, training and certification on the Triton platform. Arrow ECS will provide support for federal sales, technical consulting and access to its demonstration laboratories. Channel partners also will gain access to Websenses Triton Customer First Initiative, a support, training, tools and education program the vendor launched in May, 2010. Kurt Mills, Websense vice president, worldwide channels, said that expanded distribution deal will enable the vendor to grow our business faster and engage with a new community of channel partners that are primed to sell the Websense Triton solution and capitalize on our unique hybrid approach to SaaS (security-as-a-service) and on-premise delivery. |
