Dell Inc. recently said that it has opened a page at its PartnerDirect portal dedicated social media, available to certified channel partners, that features tools and tips, links to the vendor’s social media platforms, forums and registration for live virtual training and other courses.
“Through consistent, honest and direct interaction via the @DellChannel Twitter page and our Dell PartnerDirect LinkedIn Group, social media has become one of the most effective ways for us to learn from our partner community, and they have expressed a desire to learn more,” said Laura Thomas, a Dell spokesperson, in a blog entry.
Dell said that its social media training courses, which are open to Preferred and Premier partners, will cover topics such as how social media affects the channel and PartnerDirect’s use of social media.
“These in-depth courses will allow our PartnerDirect partners to leverage Dell’s social media best practices and presence to invigorate their own business strategies,” wrote Thomas.
Live virtual training sessions will be offered once a month on a worldwide basis.
“These training courses and the other tools on the new partner portal social media page will allow our partners to build on their awareness of social media and its benefits from a B2B perspective,” said Thomas.
Dell also plans to educate channel partners on best practices to engage with PartnerDirect on social media to enhance marketing campaigns.
