Microsoft Corp. said that its partners now can sell cloud computing applications through its Windows Azure Marketplace, a move the vendor believes will grow their revenues by reaching more customers.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft president, Server and Tools Business, told attendees at the vendor’s Worldwide Partner Conference held last week in Los Angeles, CA that “cloud computing is as big a transformation as we have ever seen and, together with our partners, Microsoft will help customers through the shift.”

The vendor said that results from a study it commissioned from Forrester Consulting indicated that software partners that featured solutions on Windows Azure generated up to 250 percent in new revenue by reaching new customers.
