Ingram Adds Web-based Pre-sales Configuration Tool for HP Channel Partners

New iQuote system aims to quicken and improve efficiency of pre-sales process.

Ingram Micro Inc. said that it has added an online, Web-based configuration tool to help channel partners become more efficient in the pre-sales process specifically for Hewlett-Packard Co.’s systems, storage and printers.

The HP iQuote tool, which it is offered to Ingram and HP channel partners at the distributor’s web site, provides guidelines for selecting the right products to fit customers’ requirements, identifying add-ons and configuration options, officials said.

Scott Zahl, Ingram vice president and general manager, Advanced Computing Division, said that the iQuote tool will enable channel partners to offer more precise sales data to customers and streamline the process.

“This is a powerful value-added tool that will allow our partners across a broad section of markets including public sector, retail and small-to-midsize business to sell HP solutions with greater ease, efficiency and success,” said Zahl.

“With HP iQuote, our resellers will be able to expedite time-to-close ratios, reduce sales costs and have more time to build stronger relationships with their customers and prospects.”

Chuck Smith, HP vice president, Blades and Cloud, Industry Standard Servers, said that the iQuote tool will add sales and profits for channel partners.

“Phone calls with pre-sales, exchanging emails, or searching to confirm a part number, takes up valuable time that could be better spent with the customer,” said Smith.
