Ingram Adds Siemens OpenScape to Cloud Portfolio
Channel partners offered unified communications pay-as-you-go cloud service aimed at SMBs.
Ingram Micro Inc. said that its services unit will handle Siemens Enterprise Communications’ OpenScape Cloud Service through its cloud marketplace for qualified IT solution and managed service providers (MSPs) in the U.S.
The OpenScape Cloud Service, based on a pay-as-you-go pricing model, offers channel partners a feature-rich, unified communications (UC) solution for SMBs at a lower cost, officials said. Key features include one-number service, voice mail to email, click to call, audio conferencing, video connections, Web collaboration, mobile desktop, and instant messaging.
Siemens initially offered the OpenScape Cloud Service about a year ago. The vendor recently said that it recorded a 25 percent increase in new business in the U.S., which it credited to a series of new products and a strategic channel expansion.
The Ingram deal is the latest of the vendor’s channel additions, including new and expanded relationships with Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions S3, the Irving, TX-based Arrow Electronics Inc. subsidiary, Black Box and Verizon, all backed by a five-fold increase in channel support resources, officials said.
Ingram said that the OpenScape Cloud Service and associated hardware enables channel partners to offer customers an end-to-end UC solution that can be managed remotely. Partners can add additional services and may white label the product under their own brand, officials said.
"The combination of cloud computing and UC solutions is redefining how businesses engage and offering new and profitable services opportunities for network-savvy IT solution providers and MSPs who are eager to embrace cloud-based technologies," said Renée Bergeron, Ingram North America vice president, managed services and cloud computing.
Andy Howard, Siemens vice president, Partner Collaboration, said that the OpenScape Cloud Service offers channel partners opportunities to up-sell and boost margins.
"This innovative, cloud-based service enables resellers and MSPs to provide customers a pay-as-you-go model that virtually eliminates the objection of capital budgets,” he said.
Ingram said that the OpenScape platform will be available to channel partners in Canada in the near future.
