HP Taps Avnet as ServiceOne Distributor
Distributor offers professional and consulting services for vendor’s ProLiant servers and 3PAR storage.
Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS), the distribution arm of Avnet Inc., said that it will offer a set of Hewlett-Packard Co. professional and consulting services under the vendor’s ServiceOne program initiated in July 2011 to help channel partners sell more service-focused IT solutions.
The distributor said that the professional services program-- aimed at ProLiant servers and 3PAR storage--is open to HP enterprise partners in North America and focuses on data center solutions for deployment, education, installation, integration and technical services.
“Avnet has invested in our services capabilities and joined the HP ServiceONE partner program to provide our partners with an easy and cost-effective way to increase their services revenues, without hiring additional staff until they have developed services practices in place,” said Tony Vottima, ATS Americas senior vice president and general manager, HP Solutions group.
“Partners can rely on our services to enhance their own capabilities and sell further up the technology stack than ever before,” he said.
Working with Avnet will not impair channel partners’ eligibility for ServiceOne benefits, Vottima said. Avnet’s HP team will help channel partners maximize ServiceONE features and benefits to improve profits, he said.
In addition, the distributor said that its regionally-based services development managers will help partners in pre-sales and to close services opportunities.
Avnet said that as an HP ServiceOne member it has some 20 resources to deliver services and more than 80 services offerings designed to extend channel partners’ existing services capabilities.
“Partners can leverage Avnet’s professional services along with their HP ServiceONE knowledge to accelerate the sales process and win more business delivering data center solutions that align with customer strategies,” said Tracy Galloway, HP Americas technology services vice president, channel and attach sales.
To help channel partners navigate cloud computing sales opportunities, the distributor said it is offering cloud strategy workshops led by an Avnet solution architect and cloud assessment services consisting of an on-site business and technical analysis of the customer's organizational readiness to move to the cloud.
Curt Cornum, Insight Enterprises Inc. vice president of infrastructure and security solutions said that Avnet’s ServiceOne membership will enable Insight to “accelerate the delivery of our combined solutions, allowing our clients to more quickly maximize their investment.”
