Avnet Inc.’s Technology Solutions and Electronics Marketing Americas divisions said that they will offer a package of digital signage services and solutions for channel partners that encompass large-scale implementations and global, multi-faceted roll-outs.
The distributor said that its Brilliant Digital Signage Suite of Services includes site survey and installation, custom integration, content management, on-site service, financing, asset recovery and technical expertise. Avnet said the solutions are aimed at embedded and data center vertical market applications in the retail, hospitality, healthcare and transportation industries.
In particular, retail and quick-serve restaurants are recognized as key market areas driving growth in the segment. Avnet cited Intel Corp. projections that by 2015 some 22 million digital signs will be powered by 10 million media players worldwide.
Avnet’s lineup of digital signage providers comprises AOpen, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, Popstar Networks, and Samsung. The company said that the digital signage services complement its portfolio of technology and supply- and design-chain expertise.

Officials said that Avnet will demonstrate digital signage technology at the National Retail Federation’s four-day conference in New York City beginning on January 15, 2012. Technologies from Advantech, CopiaMobile, Intel, Planar, Real Digital Media, Samsung EBD and IBM will be showcased, the distributor said.
