Ingram Micro Inc. said that it has signed a master services agreement with Hielix,, a Tampa, FL-based specialist in implementing and managing health care IT for physicians, including electronic health records (EHR) technology, to provide the distributors healthcare-focused channel partners with assessment services. Under terms of the deal, Ingrams channel partners will gain access to the Hielix EHR Roadmap, an interactive web application, along with tools and services for online physician assessment and EHR product evaluation. The goal of the agreement is to help channel partners gain credibility with their physician customers, speed time to revenue and protect the EHR investments of both parties, officials said. Hielix officials said that the EHR Roadmap makes it easier for physicians to adopt the technology and will help Ingrams channel partners to work with healthcare customers to identify their EHR needs. The vendor also said that it will provide Ingrams channel partners with EHR education and training. The companies said that they will offer a series and tools and services to support channel partners, including live and on-demand webinars, qualification tools and regional events. Patti Dodgen, Hielix chief executive, said that no other solution is currently available that meets the demand for relevant EHR selection and addresses the needs of individual practices. Physician assessment, combined with relevant training and support services, will assist the Ingram Micro reseller community in selling EHR solutions while also strengthening their relationships within the physician practice market space, Dodgen said. Hielixs online assessment, product evaluation and EHR roadmap will simplify the sale by helping our reseller partners to demonstrate whats needed and why, as well as show the benefits EHR solutions deliver in the short- and long-term, said Michael Humke, Ingram senior director, vertical markets. Nancy Gretzinger, president, Imagex, Inc., a IT solutions provider based in Reston, VA, said that her company is excited to work closer with Ingram Micro to build our healthcare practice and offer Hielixs tools to physicians in order to help them better understand where they are in the process of EHR adoption and give them the assurance needed to know they are on the right path.
