Ingram Micro Adds Paxton Access' Control Systems to Physical Security Lineup

Distributor signs distribution agreement to handle Paxton’s IP and wireless controllers, server- and brower-based software, keypad, proximity and specialty readers.

Ingram Micro Inc. said that it has signed a distribution agreement with Paxton Access Inc., an Orlando, FL-based provider of physical IT security products.

The agreement marks Paxton’s first distribution deal. Ingram said that its track record in the physical security market, support personnel, marketing, and pre-and post-sales technical support, swayed Paxton in its direction.

Ingram’s Physical Security Business unit will market, sell and support Paxton’s entire portfolio of IP and wireless controllers, server- and web-based software and its line of keypad, proximity and specialty readers.

The distributor said that IT resellers and installers can deploy Paxton’s products to securely control, monitor and manage entrances and exits of buildings and residences either locally or from a remote location.

“Ingram Micro is the only broadline IT distributor to offer complete access control and surveillance security solutions, plus a comprehensive line of supporting IT technologies under one roof,” said Tom Burns, Ingram general manager, Physical Security.

“It’s a value proposition that cannot be matched by our competitors, and it provides an unrivaled business advantage to manufacturers such as Paxton Access that team with us to go to market and create a more robust reseller channel that touches not only the physical security market, but also adjacent, vertical and new marketplaces such as healthcare, public sector and small-to-midsize businesses,” he said.

Bob McKee, Paxton vice president, sales and marketing, Americas, said that demand is high for secure access control not only among large enterprises but also small- and medium-sized businesses.

“By teaming with Ingram Micro, Paxton Access is able to play across markets and offer installers and resellers the flexibility and control businesses and consumers are looking for when it comes to access control systems,” he said.

Ingram said that it is offering education and training on Paxton’s products to installers and IT resellers.
