Avnet Adds EMC's RSA to Security Lineup
Distributor sees solutions as good fit for its data center solutions and will help to leverage VCEs Vblock security packages.
Avnet Technology Solutions, the distribution arm of Avnet Inc., said that it has signed an agreement to provide RSAs security, risk and compliance solutions to its lineup of channel partners in North America.
The distributor said that channel partners will be able to leverage its SecurePath, a security-dedicated enablement practice the company initiated about two years ago, to help sell the RSA solutions.
As a result of our new distribution agreement with RSA, Avnets partners can address their customers most complex and sensitive security challenges by providing complete solutions that include hardware, software and services, said Scott Look, ATS vice president and general manager, Technology Infrastructure Solutions.
Look called RSA a perfect complement to Avnets full portfolio of data center solutions.
He also said that the RSA technology is a component of VCE Inc.s Vblock solutions for securing the virtual data center and that Avnet fully supports Vblock through its distribution agreements with Cisco Systems Inc., EMC and VMware Inc.
Shawn Pearson, RSA senior director, channel and inside sales, said that Avnets proven methodology for helping resellers target growth opportunities and deliver complete business solutions aligns with RSAs strategy for channel development.
He said that the agreement with Avnet will boost channel partners ability to address their customers security issues.
Companies are facing serious business challenges, including managing organizational risk, safeguarding mobile access and collaboration, proving compliance, and securing virtual and cloud environments, he said.
One Avnet partner, Technologent, a Lake Forest, CA-based solutions integrator, said that the RSA deal will help it to win business.
