Ingram SIs Expect Custom-Build, Service Business to Grow in 2011

82 percent of Ingram's SI ArchiTechs expect custom-build business to grow in 2011, half say services business will improve by 50 percent this year.

Some 82 percent of system integrators attending Ingram Micro Inc.'s ArchiTechs event this week in Huntington Beach, CA expect their custom-build business to grow in 2011, half anticipate their services business will advance by at least 50 percent this year, and 35 percent project their overall business to grow by more than 50 percent, the distributor said.

About 100 SIs, members of Ingram's ArchiTechs program, attended the conference, which the distributor dubbed "Let Us Take You There: Your Business Your Future." The invitation-only event was led by Holly Garcia, Ingram senior director, components business Unit, and Tim Ament, Ingram vice president and general manager, direct and consumer markets.

Ingram officials touted the event as the only one of its kind in the IT industry "focused exclusively on the business and technical needs of IT system builders."
