Avnet Pairs with Brocade on New Virtualized Data Center Program for Channel Partners
Invitation-only offering centered around Brocade VCS technology aimed at boosting adoption of Ethernet fabric technologies.
Avnet Technology Solutions, Avnet Inc.’s distribution arm, said that it has teamed with Brocade Communications Systems Inc. on an initiative to help channel partners deliver data center solutions deployed with the vendor’s Virtual Cluster Switching (VCS) technology, a platform aimed at maximizing and simplifying the network architecture in virtualized settings.
The program, called Avnet Accelerator, will provide channel partners with the proper tools, training and business assessments to invest in Brocade’s Ethernet fabric technologies, including its VDX 6720 Data Center Switch, to improve network and application functionality, and manage the rapid growth of server virtualization and virtual machines in data centers, officials said.
In addition, the distributor will support channel partners throughout the pre- and post-sales process with appropriate tools, collateral and resources.
Brocade recently offered channel partners a specialization in Virtualized Fabrics and initiated a certification for Ethernet Fabric Engineer, moves that the vendor took to help the channel deliver its Ethernet fabric technologies.
The Avnet Accelerator program is by invitation only, the distributor said.
“Wide-scale virtualization and cloud computing initiatives are changing the way network architectures are built and managed,” said Scott Look, ATS vice president and general manager, Infrastructure Solutions Group, Americas.
“This comprehensive program will provide resellers with specialized expertise around Brocade Ethernet fabric-based technologies – a critical element for partners providing data center solutions in industries with high-traffic networks, such as government, education and healthcare,” Look said.
Avnet said that channel partners that participate in the program will receive targeting training to help achieve certifications, whiteboard selling techniques, sales guides to vertical markets, demonstration equipment, quarterly business planning sessions and demand generation materials.
Financing options through Avnet’s Receivables Services Program will be made available to eligible resellers as will the opportunity to leverage the distributor’s SolutionsPath practices in mobility, networking, security, storage, virtualization, energy, finance, government, health care and retail.
