Oracle Says 1,000 Channel Partners Now Hold Specialized Status
Vendor opens new OPN Specialized Partner Premier web site for partners to showcase talents and expertise to customers.
Oracle believes that its specialized program maps well to customers requirements for complete solutions and domain knowledge to help solve distinct business challenges, said Judson Althoff, Oracle senior vice president, worldwide alliances and channels and embedded sales.
We have received a tremendous response to the OPN Specialized program and already have nearly 1,000 partners delivering unique and differentiated solutions to our joint customers around the globe, said Althoff.
As the program progresses, we are dedicated to finding new and innovative ways to enable our partners to grow, succeed and profit with Oracle, he said.
Accordingly, the Specialized Partner Premier site provides a vehicle for partners to showcase their specializations to prospects, officials said.
The OPN Specialization is tailored to enable channel partners to gain recognition in the IT industry by concentrating in key Oracle solution areas. The programs goal is to help customers to discern differences among partners based on capabilities, solutions and services offered.
Oracle said that it has provided in excess of 650 training programs in the past year to help partner achieve specializations in Oracle application, middleware, database, systems or industry solution areas.
Web site matches customers with specialized partners
The new Specialized Partner Premier site allows partners to highlight their differentiated Oracle-based solutions and services and connect with customers looking for a unique business expertise.
Customers can review partner success stories, product backgrounds, news items and videos and also communicate with partners on potential business opportunities, the company said.
An International Data Corp. (IDC) analyst praised the programs partner recognition qualities.
OPN Specialized is a solid program that recognizes strong business partners, said Darren Bibby, IDC program vice president, Software Channels and Alliances Research.
Telling the customer community about those strong partners is important, yet few other programs do a good job of it. These are great initiatives from Oracle towards letting the world know what it means to be a Specialized partner, he said.
