Westcon Opens Cisco's IronPort Security Solutions to Canadian Channel Partners

Westcon Group Inc. recently said that its Comstor unit has made available to channel partners in Canada Cisco System Inc.’s IronPort e-mail and Web security solutions.

Westcon previously confined distribution of the IronPort line, which covers spam, virus, malware and data loss prevention, to channel partners in the U.S., the company said.

“Organizations are increasingly looking for tightly integrated, secure content and threat management solutions that address multiple security needs,” said Dan Forbes, Westcon Canada vice president.

“Cisco IronPort brings to market comprehensive e-mail and Web security appliances that protect organizations of all sizes against spam, viruses, and malware,” he said.

Julie Hens, Cisco vice president, U.S. and Canada distribution, said that the IronPort solution provides customers with options both for implementation and management.

“IronPort offers security solutions that deliver customers with performance and ease of use, which can be used as a hosted, managed or on-premise technology,” she said.

Westcon said that the IronPort products are available immediately to Canadian channel partners.
