Juniper Networks Taps Tierney, Cisco Veteran, To Head Global Partner MarketingVendor says hire will upgrade channel marketing efforts in partner program. Juniper Networks Inc. said that it has named Luanne Tierney, a 15-year staple of channel marketing at Cisco Systems Inc., as vice president, Global Partner Marketing, a move the vendor suggested will help it to add operational and content heft to its channel partner program. Tierney will assume her new job on February 7, 2011, according to a post on her Twitter account Thursday afternoon. She will be charged with building out the marketing facets of Junipers channel partner program into a sustainable and operationally efficient model easily accessed by the vendors channel partners and the global marketing organization, Juniper said. She will report to Lauren Flaherty, Juniper executive vice president and chief marketing officer. I am delighted to have a dynamic powerhouse like Luanne joining our team, Flaherty said. Her innovative approach to marketing and her ability to inspire will help Juniper accelerate our profile as an industry and thought leader. At Cisco, Tierney led the vendors marketing efforts for 13,000 channel partners, distributors, resellers and strategic partners. She focused on bringing marketing innovation and collaboration to the vendors channel partners, introducing them to the latest trends and how to use social media in conjunction with traditional marketing efforts. She was the face of Ciscos Partner Velocity program, an endeavor to help channel partners leverage the vendors marketing power. Before Cisco, Tierney held positions at 3Com Corp., Hewlett Packard Co., Apple Computer Inc. and First Deposit Corp. TAGS: marketing,Cisco, partner,Juniper Networks,Luanne Tierney Channel Solutions
