Avnet Technologies Inc., the distribution arm of Avnet Inc., said that it has named Gale Brown as vice president services, IBM Solutions Group, and Phyllis McCullagh as vice president, field sales, HP Solutions Group. Both appointments are for the distributors operations in North America, officials said. Brown is tasked with working with Avnets IBM team and channel partners to prepare them to sell and deliver IBM services including maintenance, aftermarket, cloud-based IT data solutions and the distributors SolutionsPath services. McCullagh will handle Avnets HP field sales in North America and help channel partners to leverage the distributors SolutionsPath offerings. Prior to joining Avnet, Brown served as IBMs vice president, business partner sales, where she was responsible for increasing SMB sales for channel partners. She has experience working with channel partners on incentives, solutions, enablement, demand generation and marketing programs. McCullagh most recently served as D-Link Systems Inc. vice president, distribution and sales. Previously, she was president, North America at GN Netcom, a provider of headsets for unified communications, offices and call centers. In addition, McCullagh held senior executive positions in channel sales and marketing at Compaq Computer Corp. and worked for two years at CompTIA, the Computer Technology Industry Association creating membership programs and services for channel partner members.
