Ingram Micro Offers Cloud Enablement Services to Channel Partners
Distributor adds dedicated cloud website, cloud services network, online cloud marketplace and education for channel partners.
Ingram Micro Inc. said it will supply channel partners delivering cloud services with new resources in education, training and sales that will offer both technical and business advantages to participants.
The distributors cloud partner enablement platform includes a dedicated website housing cloud education offerings, a cloud services network called CloudTalk, a compilation of cloud-based solutions from participating vendors called Marketplace, and a listing of cloud-related events, all intended to speed up channel partners acceptance and adoption of cloud technology, officials said.
Ingram said that it wants to support solution providers and managed service providers (MSPs) looking to set up and grow their cloud computing services. To craft the elements contained in the program, the company said it took significant input from channel partners.
Ingram Micro Cloud is a growth catalyst for the IT industry and will help alleviate the fear and uncertainty many channel partners have around cloud computing, said Renee Bergeron, Ingram vice president, managed services and cloud computing.
Focused on education, training and sales enablement, Ingram Micro Cloud simplifies cloud computing from all angles and gives channel partners both a technical advantage and a sizable business advantage when it comes to delivering cloud services, Bergeron said.
The Marketplace feature on Ingrams cloud website offers information on cloud solutions and services from the distributors hardware and software vendors, members of its Seismic program, cloud vendors on its line card, cloud affiliates and strategic allies.
Participating vendors include Microsoft, Nimsoft, Rackspace, VaultLogix, Autotask, CA Technologies, McAfee, Synergy, Awareness Technologies, AdvancedEMedia, IBM, Lead Master, Alert Logic, Work Space Communications, GoGrid, Jive Communications, Intermedia and NetEnrich.
The new online Cloud Marketplace offers channel partners a quick and easy way to access and learn more about the technologies, services, resources and what collateral is readily available to them all in one place, says Jason Beal, Ingram director of sales and services.
Ingrams cloud services network enables its channel partners to collaborate with one another in a non-competitive environment to offer cloud services and support, Beal said.
The network is an add-on to Ingrams Services Network (IMSN) and extends to cloud consulting, assessments, deployment of solutions, configuration, implementation and customization services.
The distributors cloud website includes a list of educational whitepapers, case studies and training for channel partners, and a business development curriculum with information on marketing, selling and supporting cloud services. Participating vendors include Microsoft, McAfee, IBM, Nimsoft, EMC, RSA, Trend Micro, Citrix Systems, CA Technologies and others.
