Arrow Adds RES Software for Workspace Management Solutions
Developer inks first North American distribution agreement, expands from core channel network in Europe.
Arrow Electronics Inc.s Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) division said it has signed RES Software, a 10-year old maker of workspace management solutions based in The Netherlands, to the developers first ever North American two-tier distribution agreement.
The distributor said it will carry RES Softwares entire line of products, including its PowerFuse and Wisdom lines. The PowerFuse software enables users to improve workspace management while Wisdom smoothes changes to Microsoft Windows environments and automates provisioning of IT resources from a single console.
The vendor positions its products as simplifying ITs complexity and optimizing user access to data, applications, printers and other devices.
RES said that the Arrow ECS distribution agreement is central to its strategy to expand from its core channel base in Europe, Scandinavia and Canada to the U.S.
RES Software is pleased to work with Arrow ECS to expand our channel footprint in North America, a key part of our expansion strategy in this market, said Jim Kirby, RES Software president, Americas.
For our existing resellers, this agreement represents an opportunity to gain a higher level of support to better serve their customers and enable them to grow their business, Kirby said.
He said that the deal allows RES Softwares resellers immediate access to other lines Arrow ECS distributes, which will advance their profile with customers.
The company currently maintains technology partnerships with Microsoft Corp., CA Inc., VMware Inc. and Citrix Systems Inc.
RES Software said that it has sold in excess of one million user licenses worldwide to about 2,500 SMBs, large enterprise and government agencies. Its end customers tend toward health care, education and government entities.
Distributor to provide full services
Arrow ECS officials said that the distributor will provide pre-sales, quoting, configuration assistance, access to its marketing, engineering, financing and training services to RES Softwares resellers in North America.
RES Software products are highly complementary to VMware and other virtualization technology for cost-effective and efficient virtual-desktop solutions, said Bill Botti, Arrow ECS president and chief operating officer, Alternative Technology group.
These solutions enable resellers to deliver more complete solutions to their customers while also increasing revenue opportunities through add-on sales.
RES Software recently said that it had signed four United Kingdom-based solution providers for its channel partner program, namely Bytes Technology Group, Prolinx Ltd., Orange Information Systems Group and Strategic Technologies.
The new channel partners will offer the PowerFuse software as part of their strategic virtualization and desktop transformation projects, officials said.
