Solution: The Essendon Football Club is one of the most successful Australian Rules football clubs in the country, winning more premierships than any Victorian or Australian Football League club. Secure e-mail and Internet access play a vital role in the club's operations. High bandwidth is needed so Essendon's Web site can be updated regularly, and e-mail is used by the club’s more than 100 staff members to communicate with fans, business partners, and fellow employees.

Employees were receiving hundreds of spam messages on a daily basis, meaning the IT department had to deal with a large number of complaints. In response to these issues, the Essendon Football Club began their search for an e-mail security solution that would block spam before it reached users’ desktops.
