Vendor: Meru Networks Technology Used: 20 Meru AP302 access points, Meru MC 3000 controller Solution: Located in an area that offers breathtaking mountain views, the Copperhill Mountain Lodge has the distinction of being the first hotel in the area to receive a five-star rating. This new resort hotel in Sweden features 420 beds, two restaurants and bars, a health spa, a ski lift, and a conference center that can accommodate up to 600 people. Before Copperhill opened its doors, it needed to be equipped with a wireless network that would provide both guests and staff with Internet connectivity anywhere, anytime. The Internet network had to be reliable and fast, and also needed to be able to support large numbers of simultaneous connections in the expansive conference center. Copperhill Mountain Lodge's proprietors decided to use Meru technologies to establish their property-wide wireless LAN network. A Meru MC 3000 controller to manage the WLAN and 20 centrally-managed dual radio access points capable of delivering up to 54-MB of bandwidth were deployed before Copperhills opening day. The speed and ease of installation was one of the major benefits of Copperhill's decision to go with Meru technologies. The access points and controller were deployed in just three days, and installation was simple and trouble-free. Copperhill's guests have been consistently impressed by the speed and reliability of the hotel's wireless Internet connection. Over 150 users in a small space have accessed the Internet with no problems, and there has not been a single complaint or service interruption since the network was launched. Copperhill's dependable wireless network will no doubt play a role in the success of this luxurious mountain hotel.
