To meet their centralized business intelligence reporting needs, AEP relied on BusinessObjects software. Because the utility's business intelligence needs were becoming more complex, a decision was made to upgrade to BusinessObjects XI Release 2 software because of its advanced Web-based reporting, integration, visualization, and end-user capabilities. The challenge presented by this migration was that AEP had to find a cost-effective method of training all 4,500 end users within six months.

 

To ensure user adoption and speed up the training process, American Electric Power decided to make use of BusinessObjects Knowledge Accelerator, a customizable Web-based training program. This powerful tool was chosen because of its ease of use, its flexibility, and its accessibility.

 

One of the benefits of using the BusinessObjects Knowledge Accelerator is that the program can be customized to simulate the actual AEP environment and deliver AEP-specific BusinessObjects content. This provides a more valuable learning experience since skills learned through the training program will be able to be directly applied on the job. The program gives end users the ability to test their understanding of the BusinessObjects products to ensure they possess the skills and knowledge required to use the new system effectively.
