Case StudiesIBM-Celebrity Ventures, Inc.Based in Buffalo, New York, Celebrity Ventures is a food service management company that has experienced great success in the sports-themed dining niche. Two restaurants are extremely busy on game days. The higher than normal volume often caused the point of sale systems, which were slow in the first place, to crash. Vendor: IBM (NYSE: IBM)
The two restaurants mentioned above are extremely busy on game days. The higher than normal volume often caused the point of sale systems, which were slow in the first place, to crash. Not surprisingly, this caused dissatisfaction among both the restaurants employees and its customers. As a result, they recognized the need to improve their point-of-sale systems to increase transaction speed, eliminate crashes, and offer a better experience for customers. They also wanted a POS design that would complement the décor of their restaurants. To enhance their current POS systems, Celebrity Ventures turned to Systems Technology Group, a trusted IMB Business Partner. Seven IBM SurePOS 500 systems running under an IBM xSeries with IBM SureMark printers were installed in both restaurants. These installations were completed in one night, so there was no interruption to either establishments business operations. The benefits of the new and improved POS systems have been tangible for both restaurants. Because the systems meet customer demand for fast, accurate transactions and personalized service, the client experience has been enhanced. System failure rates have been reduced, thereby increasing system uptime and reliability. Finally, the new POS systems offer an aesthetic benefit. The sleek lines, contemporary design, and elegant appearance of these systems complement the upscale and inviting décor of both establishments.
