Similar to state-funded schools in the United States, Acadia receives government funding that helps it provide students with an excellent college experience at a relatively low tuition cost. Acadia University wanted to enable students to purchase their own laptops but needed to narrow their selection to models that would meet exacting requirements and student approval. The university invited vendors to showcase their laptops to students and empowered students to choose the vendor offerings they liked best. Dell Latitude and Dell XPS laptops were among several models the students selected. Dell worked with Acadia to get a direct-buy program up and running. Working with Dell as a technology partner, the university offered the laptops under its Acadia Advantage 2.0 program. The university provides on-site repairs and guarantee that the laptops will run more than 100 software programs being used in various classes. The benefits realized to the university were realized when it launched a direct-buy program for multiple vendor offerings in just 2 months with Dells assistance. Additionally, they are able to provide a two-hour turnaround for repair and parts with Dell Warranty Parts Direct. Further details:
