Solution: The customer was running out of space for paper record and needed a way to electronically and easily manage documents to comply with the state of Florida’s public records management laws and also gain business intelligence.

The solution included a Citizen Service Platform solution based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, running on IBM Blade Center LS21. This solution uses the documents and records management capabilities in Office SharePoint Server 2007 to categorize and keep track of the department's records.

Department staffs can now upload documents individually. A template was created that lets staff easily search through the data and locate a document in minutes. Brevard county’s IT department has greatly improved its records management and acquired essential business intelligence and can respond much more quickly to citizen requests.
