Solution: Due to a surge in population, the Sheriffs Department had to upgrade its information systems to keep up with the maintenance and distribution of information. Diversified Computer Systems implemented a new set of applications including IBM WebSphere Application Server Community Edition.

As a result, the department estimated that dispatcher efficiency increased tenfold, and the safety of the deputy’s and the community as a whole has increased significantly. Dispatchers can now use the new map function to help direct deputies to incident locations; background data called in from the field on license plate numbers can be fed back;  and the timely process of writing incident reports has been sped up as a result of the new system being implemented.
