VMware Taps Former EMC Exec to Head Americas Business

VMware Inc., a provider of virtualization solutions, said that it has tapped Jeff Casale, a former senior executive at EMC Corp., to head its business operations in the Americas.

The vendor appointed Casale as senior vice president and general manager of business operations for the Americas region.

Officials said that Casale will function as VMware’s face to the marketplace, responsible for driving sales growth, providing leadership in the region, expanding VMware’s channel program and developing new business.

Casale will report to Carl Eschenbach, VMware executive vice president, worldwide field operations.

“We are delighted that Jeff has joined the VMware executive team to lead our business in the critical Americas region,” said Eschenbach.

“Jeff’s extensive leadership experience and thorough understanding of technology complement his strong track record of nurturing relationships with customers and partners to drive successful business outcomes,” he said.

Exec to lead planning and go-to-market strategy

Casale’s jobs will include heading up VMware’s strategic planning, go-to-market and management of key functions for the Americas region including sales, channels, services and field marketing, officials said.

“I was fortunate to have a diverse and fulfilling 19-year career at EMC and, while there, worked closely with the VMware team as one of my most strategic partners in front of customers,” said Casale.

“VMware has successfully established virtualization as the clear path for the next era of IT – cloud computing,” he said. “I’m thrilled to join an industry leader that has helped cultivate this shift in how organizations think about IT, and I look forward to helping VMware continue its success in delivering innovative virtualization and cloud computing solutions to customers in the Americas region.”

At EMC, Casale served as senior vice president, global channels, OEMs and go-to-market strategy.
