Avnet Sets Cisco Data Center Road Shows

Avnet Technology Solutions, the distribution arm of Avnet Inc., last week launched a 13-stop, U.S. road show, called The Way Forward Tour, for Cisco Systems Inc. channel partners.

The distributor said that the tour is intended to help Cisco channel partners gain a greater understanding of the data center opportunity, Cisco's Unified Computing System and data center architecture. The events also will show partners how to gain incremental revenue from high growth markets, reduce costs and investment risks for their customers, Avnet said.

The tour's first stop was in Irvine, CA on May 24, its second in San Francisco, CA on May 26, followed by a June 2 stop in Phoenix, AZ.

Future dates and locations include:

June 7, 2011: Denver, Colo.

"Now is one of the most exciting and profitable times to target the data center market," said Darren Adams, ATS Americas vice president and general manager, Cisco Solutions Group.

"The Way Forward Tour is the newest way Avnet is providing our Cisco partners with the in-depth data center and solutions knowledge needed to succeed in this market," he said. "Avnet has decades of data center channel experience, and we're looking forward to sharing some of our unique insights with partners to accelerate their success even faster."
