KineticD, SMB-focused Cloud Storage Provider, Upgrades Partner Program
KineticD, a Toronto, Canada-based provider of online backup, recovery and data access services aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) said last week that it added new features to its channel partner program and offered new administrative tools to help resellers provision services, monitor and manage user activity, and automate billing.
Cloud storage is gaining in popularity among SMBs because it offers access to storage options previously available only to large enterprises--a cost effective storage solution that can be managed and accessed anywhere.
KineticD said that it now counts more than 1,000 channel partners selling its cloud-based services to some 40,000 SMBs worldwide. Its channel roster includes value-added resellers (VARs), system integrators (SIs), IT solution providers and consultants. Among its notable channel partner are Nerds On Site, easyTechCare, Versutia Solutions, R&S Design Computer Services and the Geek Squad.
The company's channel program offers partners access to training, online portals for sales and marketing collateral and account management, direct credit billing to end customers, a custom landing page, marketing resources and support. Ongoing monthly commissions for selling its services start at 25 percent, the company said.
Tools such as KineticD's new partner administrative console--which offers features for partners to track the status of new and existing customers, provision services quicker, view user activity and system usage, examine individual customer trends, and provides automated, integrated billing--deliver value to channel partners, officials said.
In addition to its roster of traditional channel partners, KineticD also maintains relationships with managed service providers (MSPs), who are allowed to integrate the KineticD platform into existing offerings or package services under a private label banner.
"The growth of our channel community is accelerating the adoption of innovative KineticD solutions that help enable this growing mobile workforce," said Jamie Brenzel, KineticD chief executive.
"Our continued investment in our partners has always been an important part of our offering," he said. "We strive to provide our partners with every possible resource to help them achieve maximum results and success."
KineticD said that with its recent acquisition of Robobak, a provider of hybrid-cloud backup software aimed at the remote and branch offices of small enterprises, the company commands scalable solutions to appeal to large telecommunications providers, Internet service providers and cable companies.
"When our partners are armed with the resources, tools and support they need, the entire ecosystem benefits," said Brenzel.
One IT solution provider, Computer Expertise Group (CEG), said that the KineticD cloud storage solution suits its customers.
"KineticD enables us to provide our customers with a solution to easily backup, access, share and recover online digital assets through a centralized Web portal, and even restore lost files with just a few mouse clicks whenever needed," said Fahim Amed, CEG managing director.
