RES Software Taps Bonacci for Channel Chief Job
RES Software, a provider of solutions for hybrid desktop environments based in Philadelphia, PA, said that it has elevated Gene Bonacci to vice president of channels and strategic alliances, tasked with overseeing and growing its channel and system integrator relationships in North America and building on its distribution agreement with Arrow ECS.
Bonacci, who joined RES from Wyse Technology where he served as global vice president of strategic sales, will report to Jim Kirby, RES Americas president.
Kirby said that Bonacci's appointment will help RES to grow its channel and develop deeper ties with public sector and commercial accounts.
"Our appointment of Gene further deepens our investment in the U.S. market," said Kirby. "His experience and successful track record of driving program growth with VARs and system integrators will solidify our existing partner and SI relationships and greatly expand our reach within the federal government and private industries," he said.
Bonacci said that he "decided to join the RES team because of its exceptional and comprehensive desktop solutions that can extend the investment that enterprises are making in desktop virtualization."
Mike Nowlan, Arrow ECS vice president, North American security, virtualization and networking practices, praised Bonacci's hire and said the distributor is "pleased that RES is increasing its commitment to, and investment in, the U.S. channel market through this appointment."
In addition to his experience at Wyse where he was credited with boosting revenue from federal government accounts by 150 percent in 12 months, Bonacci also served as Symantec Corp.'s global director of sales and endpoint virtualization and Appstream Inc.'s global vice president of sales.
