Ingram Offers Recycle Program for Small Electronics and Printer Supplies
Ingram Micro Inc. said that it has opened a program for channel partners to recycle small electronics such as mobile phones and printer supplies, including toner and ink cartridges, dedicating a web site called Smart Steward to the effort and offering trade-in payments for participants.
The program, which is available to the distributor's channel partners in the U.S. and Canada, excepting Hawaii and Alaska, is available at no charge to Ingram's resellers and their customers.
Channel partners may open accounts for their own business and their customers to recycle the targeted items. Shipping are available through the web site.
"Our company is dedicated to helping our business partners excel in a way that is responsible to our communities," said Keith Bradley, Ingram North America senior executive vice president and president.
Bradley said that by participating in Ingram's recycling program channel partners will gain additional revenue and profit, as well as contributing sound environmental practices.
"Through the Smart Steward program, we provide an efficient recycling program that offers our customers an additional revenue stream to help them increase profitability," he said. "They reduce landfill waste and receive payment for their efforts, while Ingram Micro contributes to a greener planet and strengthens our customer relationships."
