Recycler Says Laptops, Notebook Replacement Up 62 Percent in Favor of Tablets
That old adage that you can tell a lot about how someone lives by what they dispose of or replace undoubtedly holds true for technology companies as well.
Anything IT.com, which provides asset management and e-waste disposal services to the U.S. government and Fortune 500 companies, is reporting a 62 percent increase over the last three months from its business customers replacing laptops and notebooks with tablets.
"The mobility and clarity on the newer tablets make for better presentation and ease of handling," says David Bernstein, AnythingIT president.
"No doubt this will be a trend moving forward worldwide, but here in the U.S. we can absolutely see how the tablet will eventually replace the laptop and even the desktop ultimately," he said.
