Tech Data Names New Logistics Senior Vice President
Tech Data Corp. said that it has promoted Darryl Branch to senior vice president, logistics and integration services. Branch will be responsible for the distributor's six distribution centers, overseeing more than two million square feet of warehouse space and technology integration facilities.
Branch also will be in charge of Tech Data's transportation, quality assurance and engineering teams, the distributor said.
"Darryl is a proven leader with extensive supply chain management experience," said Murray Wright, Tech Data Americas president.
"Under his supervision, Tech Data has significantly enhanced the productivity and efficiency of our logistics operations, which shipped more than 37 million items in North America last year," Wright said.
"Darryl was instrumental in implementing a state-of-the-art warehouse management system throughout our six U.S. logistics centers to create one of the industry's most streamlined and responsive supply chains," he said.
Branch said that "Tech Data's commitment to innovation is the driving force behind our efforts to create an even more efficient and productive logistics engine for our customers and vendor partners."
Branch joined Tech Data three years ago as vice president, logistics and integration services. His previous positions before joining the distributor were outside of information technology, as vice president, supply chain operations at Starbucks Coffee, and senior logistics and distribution positions at Avon Products, Bake-Line Products and NutraSweet.
