Rackspace Names Distributor Ingram Micro Cloud Visionary Partner of the Year
Rackspace Inc. has tapped Ingram Micro Inc. as its cloud visionary partner of the year, an accolade the vendor presented to the distributor at its 2010 Partner Leadership Summit held in San Antonio, TX earlier this month.
The hosting and cloud computing company praised Ingram for its Seismic managed services portfolio, its efforts to serve as a strategic partner in the cloud computing marketplace and its attention to the managed services provider and channel community.
Ingram's channel enablement resources and service offerings include Infrastructure-as-a-Service, educational tools, face-to-face engagements, business development, sales training and webinars.
In June, Ingram launched an initiative called Cloud Conduit to link its channel partners with cloud computing vendors. To cement the effort, Ingram signed a strategic agreement with Rackspace, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and salesforce.com.
Since then, Ingram has been selling Rackspace's managed and cloud hosting solutions to its 1,600 channel partners in North America that participate in the distributor's Seismic program as well as its larger roster of solution providers.
"Ingram Micro's channel enablement efforts around the cloud have made a significant contribution not only to Rackspace but also to the IT channel overall," said Christopher Rajiah, Rackspace director of North American channels.
Ingram's Renee Bergeron, vice president of managed services and cloud computing, said that the distributor has "made it a priority to build a cloud ecosystem that offers our channel partners the tools, technology and resources necessary to effectively bring to market and build profitable practices around cloud computing."
