Ingram Micro to Carry AppSense Desktop Virtualization Solutions
AppSense Inc., a provider of virtualization solutions for desktop management, said that distributor Ingram Micro Inc. will carry its product lineup, the first two-tier distribution agreement the company has signed in North America.
AppSense's virtualization technology allows for the personalization of corporate desktops in either physical or virtual settings.
Ingram said that its Advanced Computing Division will deliver the AppSense solutions to its roster of channel partners. The division specializes in infrastructure solutions such as virtualization, enterprise software, storage and compute platforms.
"We look forward to working with AppSense and building upon the company's success in providing channel partners with high performance virtualization solutions that help drive efficiency, better resource deployment and improved desktop ROI," said Scott Zahl, Ingram vice president and general manager, vendor management.
Richard Jackson, AppSense vice president, U.S. channels, said that the vendor signed on with Ingram to further extend its solutions into enterprises in North America.
"AppSense experienced a record FY 2010, illustrating the increasing demand for our user virtualization technology," Jackson said. "Leveraging Ingram Micro will allow our user virtualization solutions to be more widely delivered to enterprises throughout North America, increasing our global presence," he said.
Jackson joined AppSense only this week from a prior role as Citrix Systems Inc.'s vice president of the western region of the U.S. He has an extensive background in the channel, mostly in two-tier distribution. At AppSense, Jackson is tasked with leading the company's channel program and expanding its presence in the western U.S.
