Avnet Rolls Out New Programs for Oracle Partners
Avnet Technology Solutions, the distribution arm of Avnet Inc., said that it has initiated two programs to help its channel partners selling Oracle Inc. solutions navigate the vendor's specialization process and create actionable sales and marketing plans.
The distributor's Under Our Wing program helps channel partners move through Oracle's Specialization program, providing support for six database and three middleware specializations with a handbook that includes a full subject curriculum, study guide, glossary and an exam syllabus.
Channel partners that complete a specialization using the program gain access to a rewards package that includes demand generation tools and resources.
Avnet's Value Master program supports legacy resellers formerly affiliated with Sun Microsystem Inc. to optimize their business model to Oracle solutions, providing access to the distributor's support personnel, planning sessions with Oracle channel managers and consultation with analysts from researcher International Data Corp.
Mike Hurst, Avnet vice president and general manager Sun solutions, said that Oracle and Avnet are "committed to ensuring our partners' continued success in the channel, especially during times of change."
Avnet also said that it is supplementing the two Oracle programs with a white paper, entitled "Avnet: Putting the 'V' in Oracle's Value-Added Resellers," that details for channel partners how to make themselves more valuable to customers through delivering solutions and services.
"The white paper will help our solution providers understand how they can continually increase the value they bring to their customers and the Oracle channel," Hurst said.
