Cisco Invites Military Personnel to Virtual IT Training and Certification Event
Cisco Systems Inc. is sponsoring a free, virtual IT training and certification event for active and retired military personnel and others interested in pursuing technology careers in IT, networking, wireless, voice, video, data center and security.
Individuals attending the virtual event will be able to learn about new educational advancements, pick up training and career-related materials and network with other professionals in the IT industry.
The virtual event is scheduled for Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. PDT.
Advanced registration is required at http://events.unisfair.com/index.jsp?eid=619&seid=31.
Tejas Vashi, Cisco senior manager, global market development, and Michael Adler, Cisco program manager, Applied Intelligence, are co-hosting the event.
Cisco said that the event was prompted by innovations in networking and communications technology and new U.S. Department of Defense mandates for Information Assurance, both of which have had an impact on job roles across military organizations.
The vendor said that its program will enable military personnel to fulfill certain training and certification requirements for all Information Assurance jobs within the military.
Cisco said that it will help participants identify available government funding options for the training and certification.
