Sirius Wins IBM Beacon Award for Technical Excellence

Sirius Computer Solutions Inc., a $700 million, San Antonio, TX-based solution provider focused on security, networking and voice, said that IBM Corp. named it the winner in the "Overall Technical Vitality" category in its annual Beacon Awards competition, the second year in a row the company has nabbed the award.

The winner is recognized for technical excellence and innovative solutions based on IBM's products and services.

"Our clients are investing in IT projects only when a quantifiable return on their investments can be realized in a matter of days or weeks, not months or years," said Joe Mertens, Sirius president.

"Sirius product specialists, sales representatives, and consultants have to be the most skilled technology professionals in the industry to provide that kind of value," he said.

IBM said that hundreds of nominees are assessed in nine overall categories resulting in 21 awards covering hardware, software and service solutions. Judging is done by a group of IBM executives, analysts and industry journalists.

Winners and finalists receive increased industry visibility, recognition and additional promotional opportunities.

Sirius employs about 700 people, has been in business for 30 years, and serves some 6,500 clients in the U.S. through more than 100 sales locations.
